About Dr. Mary Coker

Dr. Coker grew up in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, in a horse-loving family. She showed hunters and jumpers from a young age until she graduated from college. For the next six years she managed a riding stable.

From her experience running a stable, Dr. Coker felt there was a need for more veterinary services in Haywood County and went back to college to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. She attended Ross University of Veterinary Medicine and completed her final year at the University of Georgia in Athens.

Upon her graduation in 2002, Dr. Coker went to work at Asheville Equine Hospital, and opened Smokey Mountain Mobile Veterinary Services, PLLC, two years later in 2004.

Dr. Coker also teaches the large animal veterinary technician program at AB Tech.

Dr. Coker, her husband Ron Trull, and Ron's 14 year old son Mitchell, welcomed beloved Alexia Meredith Trull into the family on January 11, 2009.

Little Alexia is frequently watched over by the family's three dachshunds, Snickers, Stetson and Anniebelle.

The family also has three horses, one donkey and two cows. Hobbies that Dr. Coker and her family enjoy include horseback riding and skiing.
